"Insufficient Credits" Error When You Have Credits
This is typically caused by your browser session being out of sync with the server. Your credits are safe -- this is a display/session issue, not a billing problem.
Quick Fix
- Log out of RoomEnhance completely
- Clear your browser cache (see our General Troubleshooting guide for steps)
- Log back in to resync your session
- Your correct credit balance should now display
Why This Happens
Your browser caches your account data (including credit balance) for performance. Occasionally this cached data becomes stale and shows an outdated balance. Logging out and back in forces a fresh sync with the server.
If the Issue Persists
- Try using an incognito/private window
- Check your credit balance on the Credits page -- this always fetches live data
- If your balance still seems wrong, contact support with your account email
Generation Stuck or Not Starting
Check Generation Status
- Look for a progress indicator or spinner on the page
- Wait at least 30 seconds -- generations can take time, especially at higher resolutions
If Nothing Happens After Clicking Generate
- Refresh the page and try again
- Check that you have uploaded an image (required for most features)
- Ensure your image is in a supported format (JPEG, PNG, or WebP)
- Check your internet connection
During Peak Hours
High demand can slow down generation times:
- Generations may take longer than usual (up to 2 minutes)
- The system automatically retries if the AI service is temporarily overloaded
- You do not need to click Generate again -- the retry happens automatically
Generation Failed
Automatic Retry System
RoomEnhance automatically retries failed generations up to 3 times:
- 1st retry: After 2 seconds
- 2nd retry: After 4 seconds
- 3rd retry: After 8 seconds
If the primary AI model is unavailable, the system automatically switches to a backup model. You do not need to take any action during retries.
Automatic Credit Refund
If a generation fails after all retry attempts, your credits are automatically refunded. You do not need to contact support for a refund on failed generations.
Common Failure Causes
- Large or complex images: Try a simpler image or reduce the resolution setting
- Unusual image formats: Convert to JPEG or PNG before uploading
- Server maintenance: Wait a few minutes and try again
- Rate limiting: If you are generating many images quickly, wait 30 seconds between requests
Credits Deducted But No Image
Check Your Gallery
The image may have been generated successfully but not displayed due to a page error:
- Navigate to your Gallery page
- Look for the most recent generation
- If the image is there, the generation succeeded
Refund Timing
- Failed generations are refunded automatically and immediately
- Check your credit balance on the Credits page for the most up-to-date total
- If you do not see the refund after 5 minutes, try logging out and back in
Still Missing?
If credits were deducted and no image appeared in your gallery:
- Note the approximate time of the generation attempt
- Contact support at hello@roomenhance.com with:
- Your account email
- The feature you were using (Visualize, Compose, etc.)
- The approximate time of the attempt
Image Quality Not as Expected
Resolution Settings
Higher resolution produces better results but costs more credits:
- 1K (1024px): Good for quick previews and ideation
- 2K (2048px): Recommended for most uses (default)
- 4K (4096px): Best quality, ideal for print or presentations (2x credit cost)
You can change the resolution in the Image Settings panel before generating.
Aspect Ratio
Choose an aspect ratio that matches your intended use:
- 4:3 or 3:2: Standard photo proportions
- 16:9: Widescreen, great for presentations
- 1:1: Square format, good for social media
- 9:16: Vertical, ideal for mobile or stories
Prompt Tips for Better Results
- Be specific: "Modern minimalist living room with white oak floors" works better than "nice room"
- Mention materials: "Marble countertops", "brass fixtures", "linen curtains"
- Specify lighting: "Bright natural light", "warm evening lighting"
- Reference styles: "Scandinavian", "Mid-century modern", "Japanese minimalist"
- Keep it focused: Describe the key changes you want rather than every detail
Upscaling
If the image looks good but needs more detail, use the Upscale feature:
- 2x upscale (3 credits) -- doubles the resolution
- 4x upscale (5 credits) -- quadruples the resolution

Safety Filter Blocks
Why Generations Are Blocked
RoomEnhance uses AI safety filters to ensure generated content is appropriate. Generations may be blocked if the prompt or image contains content that triggers these filters.
How to Adjust Your Prompt
- Use neutral language: Describe spaces and design elements objectively
- Focus on design: Emphasize colors, materials, furniture styles, and layouts
- Avoid ambiguity: Be clear about the type of room and its intended use
- Simplify: If a complex prompt is blocked, try a simpler version
If You Believe It Was Blocked in Error
Safety filters are intentionally conservative. If your legitimate design prompt was blocked:
- Try rephrasing the prompt with different wording
- Remove any words that could be ambiguous
- If the issue persists, contact support with the prompt text you used
